Your flight from Bangkok to Paro will take about 5 hours. Landing at Paro airport, dubbed 'one of the most challenging airports in the world' but possibly also one of the most beautiful for its natural surroundings.After lunch, visit the 17th century National Museum. Explore the Paro Dzong, a massive fortress built in the 17th century, now the premises of a monastery. Here, you'll receive an intimation of the uniqueness of Bhutanese Buddhism. Stroll downhill from the Dzong over an old cantilever bridge is a suitable ending to your first day in Bhutan. You will be
hiking the Tiger's Nest the next day- iconic of any trip to Bhutan, spending the rest of the day at leisure to indulge in the hotel's signature hot stone treatment at its spa or a day on its archery grounds.

Day 3: Drive one and half hours to the capital town Thimphu, in the morning. After checking and checking into your hotel, spend the afternoon with a choice of activities. Your guide and driver will be at your disposal. Activities and places that we
would suggest include the Textile Museum, Takin Zoo, Thimphu Dzong, National Library, Traditional Painting School or the Weekend Market if your visit so coincides. Altitude:2400m
Drive two and a half hours to Punakha over the Dochu La Pass , situated at an altitude of 3000m.
Punakha was the capital of Bhutan until the 1950s. Today, the monks migrate from Thimphu to Punakha in winter, when it gets too cold in Thimphu. Driving around Punakha reveals many pastoral sceneries. A climate that could almost be described as tropical in the summer, the beautiful valleys of Punakha display an abundance of fruits.
For a view of some of the finest examples of Bhutanese arts and crafts, visit Punakha Dzong in the afternoon, going on for a short spell, driving through the verdant, lush valleys, hiking for about 45 minutes to the beautiful Khamsun Yuley temple.Base:Amankora Punakha , altitude 1250m
Day 5-7:Drive for 8 hours to Jakar, the capital of the district of Bumthang. The drive itself is a treat, as you witness ever-changing landscapes of slopes and vegetation, from dense pine forests to hill slopes shrouded, perpetually, in a mysterious mist befitting this magical kingdom.The next day you'll be visiting the numerous dzongs that Bumthang is
justifiably famous for. Base: Amankora Bumthang, Altitude: 2700m
Day 8:Drive back to Paro. Spend a day relaxing, have a spa treatment amidst the inspired surroundings of the Bhutanese landscape or attend an archery class on the hotel grounds.
The Uma Paro, part of the Como Resorts and Spas has a well regarded spa, which we do recommend you partake of- an experience made all the more memorable for the surroundings. Bhutan is the only nation in the world to have archery as the national sport and here at Uma Paro, you'll be partaking of this ancient practice on the sensitively-designed premises of the Uma Paro.

Back in Bangkok, you will be staying at the Grand Hyatt Erawan. relaxing and possibly squeezing in a spot of shopping in the Thai Capital.
