Seikoro means ‘the
house stood tall at the bank of Kamo River in fine
weather’. As name the suggests, Seikoro Inn is
located east of the famous Kamo River, surrounded by
famous shrines and temples such as Kiyomizu Temple
and Yasaka shrine. First opened for business in
1831, Seikoro Inn has seen Japan's transition from
the Samurai dominated Edo era to Modernism of Meiji
and Taisho era.
