  • Day 1: Kota Kinabalu

    On your arrival in Kota Kinabalu you will be transferred by private vehicle to the Shangri-la Tanjung Aru Resort. Check in at the Kinabalu Club. In the late afternoon you can proceed to the Sutera Harbour Marina where a luxury motor yacht will be waiting for you. Dinner cruise on board motor yacht, returning to resort by 2130 hrs. (Sunset Cocktails, Dinner)

    Day 2:

    Morning at leisure with breakfast taken at the Kinabalu Club Lounge. Meet at the Kinabalu lobby where you proceed for your excursion down south to the Klias wetlands for a river cruise in search of the Proboscis Monkey. After a private dinner arrangement, return to Kota Kinabalu and your resort.(B,D)

    Day 3:

    After a leisurely breakfast taken at the Kinabalu Club Lounge, proceed to the Sutera Harbour Marina for your private boat ride to Gaya Island. On Gaya, you will be lead on a 90 minute trail through the heath forest learning about the plant and animal life. From Police Beach, ferry across to Manukan Island for a BBQ lunch. After lunch, you will be able to do take a 30 minute scuba doo (underwater) session followed by a private parasail session. Return to the resort in the late afternoon. Meet at the Kinabalu lobby for Chinese style-dining at the Shang Palace.

  • Day 4: Mulu

    After a morning at leisure check out of Shangri-La and transfer to the airport for your flight to Mulu. Proceed directly to the Mulu National Park for your visit to Deer and Lang Cave. You will be taken along the Rainforest Discovery Walkway to these 2 caves. Only 100m apart, the two caves differ in size – with the Deer Cave being the world’s largest cave passage and Lang Cave being small and intimate. At dusk, move to the Bat Observatory and wait for the evening bat exodus where millions of bats leave the caves in search of food. Proceed to the Resort for check in followed by a private dinner arrangement.(B,D)

    Day 5:

    After an early breakfast, proceed on a trip to Clearwater and Wind Caves. Travel down the Melinau River on a private longboat to Wind Cave. At Wind Cave you will be taken to the Kings Chamber to learn about stalactite and stalagmite formation. Trek from Wind Cave to Clearwater Cave for a short visit followed by a picnic lunch by the riverside. After lunch, visit the Canopy Skywalk – the world’s longest tree-based walkway. Return to the resort in the late afternoon. Private dinner arrangement at the resort. (B,L,D)

  • Day 6: Kota Kinabalu

    Morning at leisure. After lunch, check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu . Check in at the Kinabalu Club Lounge, Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.(B,L)

    Day 7: Sandakan

    After breakfast at the Kinabalu Lounge, check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Sandakan. Meet on arrival at the airport and proceed for a visit to the Sepilok Orang Utan Centre. After the afternoon feeding session, proceed on a 2 hour overland journey to the Lodge. Check in followed by dinner at the lodge. After dinner you will be taken on a night walk in search of nocturnal animal life. (B,D)

    Day 8:

    At sunrise take a private boat ride along the river for some early morning bird watching. Return to the lodge by mid morning for your breakfast and a break. In the afternoon after lunch, prepare for your afternoon river cruise for some animal spotting. The Kinabatangan Wildlife Plain is known for the diversity in animal life and you will have the opportunity to see orang utan, proboscis monkey, elephant, silver leafed monkey and a variety of birds. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner. (B,L,D)

    Day 9:

    Visit the Gomantong Cave after breakfast. The cave is known for the harvested delicacy – birds nest. Here you will learn how the nests are harvested apart for more wildife spotting. In the afternoon after lunch, prepare for your afternoon river cruise for some animal spotting. The Kinabatangan Wildlife Plain is known for the diversity in animal life and you will have the opportunity to see orang utan, proboscis monkey, elephant, silver leafed monkey and a variety of birds. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner. In the evening, proceed for a night walk in search of wildlife. (B,L,D)

  • Day 10: Kuala Lumpur

    Early morning breakfast followed by check out and overland drive to Sandakan for your flight to Kuala Lumpur.(B)
