Luxury Travel and safaris to Tanzania
From the famous
Northern circuit of Tanzania that takes in the
unique and spectacular Ngorongoro Crater and the
Serengeti, chimp trekking in Mahale or the more
remote safari experiences in Selous and Katavi,
Tanzania presents many opportunities for a
connoisseur's safari, combining private game
reserves and remote places with alternative
interpretations of a safari.
Tanzania, with its
many luxury lodges, private game reserves and
beautifully remote spots present numerous options
for the luxury traveller.
The Serengeti, famous
as the continuation of the Masai Mara- Serengeti
eco-system, is about three times the size of the
Masai Mara, with far fewer lodges- a
characteristically ideal for luxury travel.
Whilst the Northern
circuit typically covers Arusha, Ngorongoro Crater
and the Serengeti, look eastwards too, towards Lake
Manyara, described by Arthur Rimbaud as 'the most
beautiful place on earth'. With much less cache and
a foothold on the popular imagination than, say,
Ngorongoro Crater, the lush forests of Lake Manyara
will lure, surprise and draw in even the most
seasoned of safari travellers.
True to the style of
Urbane Nomads, we'll have you based in a luxury
lodge- albeit one where guests feel part of the
natural surroundings and infrastructure. You could
run into an African bull elephant on the way back to
your room, blowing bubbles in your bath while
watching wildlife right outside the full glass
windows of your bath or indulge in the outdoor
rainshower whilst watching and being watched) by
monkeys and baboons perched on a suitably
advantageous point nearby. Urbane Nomads combines
luxury lodges in Africa without detracting from the
experience of being in the wild- the true luxury,
perhaps, in having guests comfortably based whilst
Africa works its magic.
