Luxury Travel to Trengganu
Beautiful unspoilt beaches, a most innovative spa
whose sense of ritual and pageantry makes the
experience that much more memorable and an
architectural heritage that is one of the most
interesting in Malaysia provides for the
luxury-beach dimension and makes this town an
essential component to your Malaysian trip.
You'll be staying in a seaside resort consisting of
houses displaying architecture harkening back to the
Malay Sultanates. Right from your point of entry- a
charming drive down through authentic Malay
villages, the heritage and seclusion of the property
is sure to charm the most jaded of holidaymakers.
With a choice of restaurants, each displaying an
excellent repertoire of dishes (its beachfront
restaurant is considered one of Malaysia's best
destination restaurants), and an award-winning spa
revolving around the unique theme of Malay healing
practices, this property is worth the detour on a
trip.
We'll arrange for a private dinner on the beach if
you wish, or book one of the spa treatments, all
designed to recreate the courtly traditions of the
Malaccan sultanate. The treatments are administered
by traditional healers in the nearby villages,
lending a sense of authenticity. You would be
accompanied by the vigorous sounds of kompang
courtesy of the women living in the nearby villages
as you're led down on the beach on the way to your
spa treatment, creating an unparalleled sense of
ritual and atmosphere.
The next day, you could opt for an early morning(pre-sunrise)
exercise by the beach. Termed the indera deria,
it is a traditional Malay form of exercise, with the
closest parallel in mainstream consciousness being
the yoga.
Despite its idyllic, isolated location, a range of
activities can be had- from batik-printing to
kite-making classes for those so inclined, or a
river cruise along the Marang River with the
resident naturalist. Trekking trips to the nearby
waterfall can also be arranged as is a guided
bicycle tour of the nearby villages.
