Overview

The Dune eco village resort & spa, pondicherry is a thematic hotel designed to cater to the growing demand for long stay destinations with soul and comfort where cultures, ideas and people merge with one another.

A 35 acre eco-friendly beach hotel with unique 30 aesthetic villas and 20 rooms fusing modern and traditional architecture, swimming pool, organic farm, tennis court… and 700m of sea front, welcoming guests all through the year.

Figures well as part of a luxury travel itinerary through India and spectacularly as a base for a luxury Indian honeymoon.

Accommodation

Our bungalows are sparsely spread and discreetly hidden over 30 acres and 700m of beach front. Each one is of a unique inspiration, furniture, size, facility, ranging from ones for couples to ones for families or friends with lounge and private gardens.

They are known for their commitment to reduce the impact on the environment. They are partly built using reclaimed building material from South Indian Colonial houses, Chettinad palaces and Kerala planter’s mansions. They are fully equipped with Solar hot water system, low comsuption bulbs and Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Not all our accommodation have air conditioning for environmental reasons and we have most of the time a refreshing sea breeze.

Restaurants & Bars

Fun Restaurant

A rich fusion of traditional Indian and Continental recipes are innovatively made to give you an unforgetable experience. Our food is made-to-order, using fresh organic products as much as possible. the F.U.N (Food U Need) restaurant promotes the hypotoxic diet of the French biologist: Doctor Jean Seignalet. The menu we propose is a mix of hypotoxic and non-hypotoxic cuisine. “F.U.N” Restaurant and The Lounge are the meeting points at The Dune. A family atmosphere prevails here always. This encourages people to meet, chat and interact with each other.

Sea Food Bar

By the beach, next to the swimming pool and the children playground, you can enjoy fresh seafood cooked as per your choice in the grill, the barbecue or the tandoor with fresh salads,sandwiches, snacks and drinks.

Private Dinner

We organize private dinners that should give you an unforgettable experience. Our Chef can provide specially cooked meals according to your celebrations and we arrange for a very special setting as well.

Recreation

To the south (15kms), lies Pondicherry, an ex French colony with its quaint colonial houses and numerous restaurants. The entertainment ranges from amazing shopping experience in the street bazaars to quiet cultural evenings in Alliance Francaise. Sri Aurobindo’s Ashram is also a place to visit. Also to the south, but closer (8km) is Auroville, an experimental township sustaining a unique community. Life with people from 44 different nationalities living and working together, this utopian concept is the realization of the dream of Mirra Alfassa, a French disciple of Sri Aurobindo, known as “The Mother”.

To the north, on the way to Chennai, one can visit the ancient Pallava port of Mahabalipuram, famous for its magnificent shore temple, it’s rathas (stone chariots) and its numerous talented stone sculptors.

To the west, lies Gingee, an ancient fort set amongst a landscape of granite chaos, further west (50km), lies the town of Thiruvannamalai, famed for its very large and ancient temple and the sacred hill called Arunachala, symbolizing the element fire. At the foot of this hill, lived one of the greatest seers of India, Ramana Maharshi.

Trips can be organized even further to Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Swamimalai, Karaikudi, Madurai etc., places that offer a unique insight into enchanting Tamil culture.
