In 1969 our father, Angelo, began renovating
the farmhouses, the first step in the
reconverting of what until that time had
been an abandoned estate.
Over the years
we have planted hectares of vineyards, built
cellars for vinifying and aging, and
produced wines of great character and
complexity. Today “Palazzone” is one of
Umbria’s major wine labels.
Surrounded by vineyards and oak and
chestnut woods, the historic “Palazzone”
edifice -though still spectacular in its
austere and imposing bulk- was slowly
falling into ruin. The time had come to make
a dream come true and to restore the superb
Palazzone and return it to its original
“hospitality” function, in order to welcome
modern wayfarers seeking sensations,
tranquility, emotions, history, flavors and
beauty.
Thus “Palazzone” has become the country
house “Locanda Palazzone”.
