Overview

Riad El Fenn is a large town house perfectly located on the edge of the Medina of Marrakech. Close to the Bab El Ksour gate, it is just 20 minutes from the airport, yet only a five minute walk from the heart of the city, the main square of Jemma El Fna. Built like a fortress, the ancient walls of the riad are over a metre thick, providing an oasis of beauty and peace in the midst of the noise and bustle of the medina.

Respecting the historical importance of the house, it has been restored to the highest of standards with love and attention to detail. Within these ancient walls you will find everything you need for a wonderful stay in Marrakech, whether you just want to relax and unwind, or have a base from which to explore the delights of the city and the surrounding area. With 21 luxuriously appointed rooms, three pools, a spa, private cinema, bar and restaurant, secret terraces and magnificent colonnades, Riad El Fenn has everything you could possibly need, and more.

Accommodation

Riad El Fenn's 21 suites and bedrooms are all quite different but each has a small or large sitting area and bath shower en suite. The largest suites top at 900 sq ft with private terrace and small plunge pools enjoying wonderful views.

The showers have power, the baths are deep, the heating/air-con is effective and discreet, the mattresses firm, the pillows plentiful, the linen fine, the beds huge, the bath oils delicious, the candles scented. All rooms have mini bars, iPod docking stations and safes. Room service is available.

Dining

The approach to food is to keep it simple, fresh and made from local produce only. They cook the produce of the organic garden in the foothills of the Atlas mountains and the daily markets are brimming with herbs, spices, vegetables and fruits of exceptional quality.

The charming Moroccan staff will prepare you a breakfast of freshly squeezed orange juice, strong coffee and the freshest croissants this side of Bordeaux. Breakfast can be eaten on the terrace, in your room or in a quiet corner of your choice anywhere in the riad.

On offer is a simple lunch with salads and vegetables, a light fish or chicken dish, cheese and dessert.

Dinner is a much more elaborate affair as they source only the best the market has available that day. Your choice is limited but includes vegetarian options and guarantees excellent quality. This can be eaten on the roof terrace under the stars or in our beautiful dining room, preceded by cocktails and aperitifs at the bar.

Meals could not be more civilized with a carefully chosen selection of Moroccan and French wines.
