Pakistan Quetta Serena | Urbane Nomads
Overview
Nestled between the
awesome Chiltan and Koh-i-Murdar mountains, Quetta
makes a dramatic sight. The provincial capital of
Balochistan lies 1,692 meters above sea level. This
legendary region with its rugged mountains, parched
earth, terraced valleys and extremes of temperature,
has developed distinct, identifiable and readable
patterns of architecture. The curving, rambling mud
wall is the basic and omnipresent building element -
it defines the streets, the fields, the orchards,
the courtyards and the "abode".
Quetta Serena Hotel has a distinctive identity - a
character of its own. It has incorporated many
stunning architectural and decorative elements of
the local Baloch people - famed for their chivalry
and martial prowess. Traditional arts and crafts,
decorative patterns and other graphic designs found
throughout the plush interior of the hotel are an
affirmation of pride in the local culture and
aesthetic traditions.
With stunning mountain views on all sides, the hotel
is set amid flower-filed courtyards with fountains
and water channels around the fruit orchards. It
provides guests with first-class amenities and a
world of luxury where the service is warm and
gracious. From the doormen to the reception, to the
Room Service and everything in between, it promises
to make each ones stay a memorable one.

mountains. Spread over 32500 acres, the park gives
protection to the Markhors a four-legged animal with
strong horns.

and porcupines occasionally migrate to the park from
other areas

from Quetta. It is popular for its 5,000-year-old
Juniper Forest, the Quaid-e-Azam Residency, Sandman
Tangi, Chutair valley plus its scenic beauty and
cold weather. Located near Ziarat is the Prospect
Point which gives a breath taking view of the entire
valley below Khajoori An Oasis in the desert with
water surrounded by Palm trees and farmlands at the
bed of the mountains range, easily approachable by a
well carpeted road. The route takes you through the
turning and winding famous Bolan Pass with many coal
mines located on the way, with water rattling
through different sized pebbles and stones, in its
way, gives peace and serenity. This is an ideal spot
for a daylong picnic with friends and family.
Pir Ghaib

picnic spot. Here the hot water pours through
natural limestone cliffs into a turquoise pool
surrounded by palm trees and is ideal for a peaceful
swim. The place is accessible by a four wheel drive
