Myths and legends are
a frequent, dominant feature of destinations and
travel lore in South East Asian destinations. Urbane
Nomads takes these myths and legends, creating
itineraries that alternately highlight
socio-political issues( as does our 'Divine Feminine
Tour' that traces the legend of the sea goddess Nyai
Loro Kidul, who acts as patron goddess for the
bird's nest gatherers on coastal Java who frequently
risk their lives in their quest to find bird's nest
in oceanside caves) or leads to a better
understanding of recent contemporary history, as
does our itinerary to Vietnam, which has guests
meditating or engaging in a private yoga session in
a cave formerly used as an arms repository during
the Vietnam War.
