Dates being determined by a  bomoh witch doctor a few months before the actual event- this festival revolves around horsemen aiming to kill their opponents on horseback. With dying during pasola being considered an honour amongst the villagers of Sumba, this yearly ritual is one of the more colourful examples of how Sumba is keeping to its traditions.
